New gold zone for Brazil project

Tuesday, 18th December 2007 (1999 views)

Amarillo Gold has announced that its Lavras do Sul project in Brazil has uncovered a new gold zone.

Broad, low-grade gold mineralisation has been found at the Caneleira prospect at the Rio Grande do Sul-based project.

The mineralisation uncovered at the five holes drilled so far span almost 400 metres of strike length, the company reports.

It is stated that assays are pending for four more drill holes, with mineralisation on the prospect continuously mapped as an alteration zone for one kilometre.

Describing the results as "encouraging", Amarillo Gold reports that a drill is to be kept on Caneleira so the extent of the altered zone can be tested,

Meanwhile, a second rig is being drilled at the Cerrito prospect, located to the east of Lavras do Sul.

Focused on exploring Brazil's gold resources, Amarillo characterises itself as a young company committed to preserving the environment and acting in a socially responsibly manner.
