Exploration drilling at the new Paredao prospect on the Lavras do Sul gold project has intersected significant near-surface gold mineralisation, according to Amarillo Gold.

In an exploration progress report, the company stated that drilling completed on the prospect has so far given a first-pass test in its southern, central and northern zones

Further drilling operations are now to be carried out on Paredao Norte, the northern zone, to investigate the extent of gold mineralisation uncovered in the initial programme.

Examination of anomalous gold targets from the other two zones when all assay results have been returned will help determine the placement targets for more follow-up drilling.

According to the company, the Paradeo prospect is located on pasture land west of the Brazilian village of Lavras do Sul.

Drilling is ongoing at the site, with the rig that was operating on the Paredeo site now working on the fifth hole of a programme on the Lavras do Sul project's Caneleira prospect.

Amarillo Gold currently has two gold projects underway in Brazil – Lavras do Sul and Mara Rosa.
