A new zone of gold mineralisation has been discovered at the Beiya mining property in China's Yunnan Province, according to Asia Now Resources.

The company said that the newly-discovered zone, which is located adjacent to the Beiya gold mine, demonstrates over 130 metres of continuous mineralisation with two major intervals.

It is estimated that the zone extends to a total length of 1,200 metres from east to west and is open in both north and west directions on the property.

The Beija gold mine, Yunnan's largest open-pit gold facility, has produced around two million ounces of gold, Asia Now Resources has said.

"We expect that infill drilling currently underway will confirm the continuity of the thick mineralised zone that is open to the west and north of the property," said Kaihui Yang, president of Asia Now Resources, adding that there is "high potential" for a gold deposit located at Beiya North.

A 2,000-metre drilling programme is currently underway at the site to test for gold mineralisation in the Beiya North and Beiya Far North blocks of the property site, according to the company.

Asia Now Resources is currently drilling at two gold properties in China - Beiya and Great Wall.
