A Phase One diamond drilling programme at the Bobjo Mine has intersected a new gold zone, according to Mainstream Minerals.

The project, a joint venture between the company and King's Bay Gold, covers a total of 3,800 acres in the Red Lake mining district in Ontario, Canada.

Assay results from the first 14 holes drilled at the site have been returned from the laboratory, with Hole 14 yielding an intersection containing visible specks of gold.

Further results from Holes 15 to 20 are pending from the SGS Canada laboratory in Red Lake, Ontario and are expected to be released as soon as they have been verified, Mainstream Minerals have said.

Both companies have said the initial high-grade gold results from the drilling programme are promising and that ongoing drilling operations on the site will continue to test the large quartz vein system on the Bobjo property.

According to Mainstream Minerals, an ultra high-grade gold discovery was made at the Bobjo Mine Project in December 2006.
