A "significant" gold geochemical anomaly has been discovered at Skygold Ventures' Manson Creek property, according to the company.

Sediment-hosted vein deposits on the property, located in north-central British Columbia, Canada, are currently under exploration.

According to Skygold Ventures, a recent round of geochemical sampling has identified an area measuring four kilometres by five kilometres, which contains gold trends classified as anomalous running parallel to other main geological structures and contacts.

The newly-identified area is situated around six kilometres south of Canadian Gold Hunter's QCM zone, where gold mineralisation has been identified during drilling operations.

Scott Weekes, Skygold Ventures' vice president of exploration, said he was "extremely encouraged" by the drilling results on the Manson Creek property.

"The full extent of the gold mineralization at Manson Creek is yet to be determined however a 5 km by 4 km gold soil anomaly is an excellent starting point," he said.

He added that the company has defined further drilling targets for its Manson Creek and Prince George properties to expand on the findings of the latest sampling programme.

Skygold Ventures also operates the Spanish Mountain property in British Columbia, where a gold mineralised system measuring 1,200 metres by 500 metres has been identified by drilling operations within the past two years.
