SAIIA national director Elizabeth Sidiropoulos told the news provider: Africa has a one-off opportunity to benefit from the extraction and exploitation of its natural resources, but, to do so, it needs to strengthen its governance regimes considerably." Countries to be researched reportedly include Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania and Sudan, although GARP is said to be intending to look at broader issues affecting the whole continent.
