ITH: Encouraging drill results at Livengood deposit

Friday, 28th September 2007 (2000 views)

New drill hole results released by International Tower Hill Mines (ITH) from its exploration project at the Livengood deposit are encouraging, the company said.

A total of three new drill holes have revealed a new gold mineralisation zone in the overlying upper plate rocks of the deposit.

The results also recorded a significant expansion in the volcanic and sediment-hosted gold zones to the south and east of the deposit and represent the broadest zones intersected at the project.

Geological consultant Dr Richard Sillitoe said that he strongly recommends that more work be carried out at the site to determine the full potential at Livengood, particularly at an "exceptionally thick" volcanic section, which he says contains much of the gold at the deposit.

Ongoing drilling at the site will continue until mid-October, with calculations of initial resource estimates set to be released this winter.

ITH has gold exploration projects based in the states of Alaska and Nevada and works to promote the "discovery culture" within its mining work.
