Pearl Asian joins Philippines mining "revival"

Tuesday, 28th August 2007 (1084 views)

Pearl Asian Mining Industries has announced that it has begun working to develop the Gango Gold Rush Mineralized Area of the Philippines.

The company stated that it is currently making the final changes to its enhancement of the livelihood of miners in Libona, Gango and Bukidon, prior to the Gango Gold Rush development.

To be headed by Pearl Asian's chief metallurgist Elvis Hidalgo, who has been appointed resident manager of operations, the project is to include livelihood training programmes for miners.

Local people are reportedly to be prioritised when appointing workers to carry out the jobs created by the development.

"Pearl Asian Mining is recognised for its leadership in providing products and services targeting the small scale miners in order to create an orderly and sustainable gold and other mineral productions, thus promoting this newly-born mining revival industry sector of the Philippines," commented president for Mindanao operations Manolo Tecson.

Philippines president, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has voiced her support for the mining industry in recent months, lauding its capacity to reduce poverty.
