Aquila Resources intercepts gold

Thursday, 26th July 2007 (1814 views)

Gold exploration company Aquila Resources has made multiple gold discoveries at the Back Forty project in the upper peninsula of Michigan.

According to Aquila the company has made multiple intercepts of the precious metal mineralisation over broad intervals at the mine.

Highlights of the drilling discoveries include 94.2 metres of 1.89 grammes per tonne (g/t) of gold in hole LK-169 and six metres showing 17.9 g/t of gold in the PM gold zone hole LK-171.

"Multiple zones of gold and base metal mineralisation are present throughout the entire length of these holes and we are especially pleased to see wide, near surface intercepts in hanging wall rocks to the Hinge and Tuff zone," commented Tom Quigley, Aquila's president.

He added that such broad zones of 0.5 to three g/t of gold are potentially important additions to Aquila's near surface resource.

Other discoveries at the area included 33.9 metres of 2.27 g/t of gold in the Deep zone massive sulfide in hole LK-171.
