Jewellery store Mod Milano in the Philippines is located on the ground floor near of the Gateway Mall and is popular among local socialites, it has been reported.

According to the Manila Bulletin, the company is itself internationally recognised for its modern styles and designs which are changed quarterly after which time they are returned to Italy, melted and then remodelled.

The jeweller stocks chokers made of gold mesh, coloured gold rings and earrings with blue and yellow sapphires, bohemian necklaces and chains of blue polished gold.

"Our company mainly specializes in settings for any kind of stones - diamonds, ruby, emerald, turquoise, etc. Since we are a manufacturer, we carry limitless designs (but) even if you pay a million dollars more for a particular design that's already been sold, we won't repeat it again," owner Sinan Batur told the Manila Bulletin.

While the Philippines is one of the biggest producers of gold in the world, Mr Batur purchases his gold only from the Central Bank of Italy and items produced are chosen from the best European goldsmiths by a team of experts in jewellery–making.
