Cluff gold expecting African expansion

Friday, 20th April 2007 (2065 views)

The chief executive of Cluff Gold has announced that the group will be assessing the performance of some of its current projects before mooting developments in other parts of Africa.

Algy Cluff has stated that the group will be targeting increasing production capacity by 300,000 ounces at the Baomahun mine in Sierra Leone in the next three years.

It will wait to see how much its projects in the Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso generate also.

Mr Cluff explained that he had received a number of offers from other companies looking over the group's assets.

However, he added: "It's not in our interests at the moment. We want to get to full value with this company before we start encouraging interest."

Announcing that in the immediate future Cluff Gold would be concentrating its activities in West Africa, Mr Cluff announced that he would consider expanding into projects in Ghana and Tanzania.
