Kodiak begins third phaseThursday, 29th March 2007 (2276 views) Drilling work has continued at Kodiak Exploration's 100 per cent controlled Hercules gold prospect as the third phase of development commences.The prospect in Ontario, has had its gold-mineralisation zone discovered with stripping and diamond drilling work and the strike lies over a distance of 1.2 kilometres. Last year's drilling saw one drill hole yield a gold grade of 15.59 grams per tonne over 9.7 metres, which comprised of a 2.8 metre stretch that had a gold grade of 51.65 grams per tonne. Veins and the sheared walls at the shear zone have been found to bear gold and these occurrences repeat every 100 to 150 metres at the Yellow Brick Road, Penelton and WL zones, mapping discovered. The overriding aim of the third phase of exploration work at the Hercules gold prospect is to expand what is known of the gold-bearing zone and a series of mapping and sampling work will also be carried out at Kodiak's Ontario property.
