Increased resources for Alamos mineFriday, 23rd March 2007 (2098 views) Alamos Gold Incorporated has announced increases in its resources estimates at its project in Mexico. The Mulatoc project is located in the Sonora region of the country. Since the June 2004 feasibility study was completed there, there has been a net increase of 453,000 ounces of gold at the site. The measured and indicated resources mined to date is now 91.2 million tonnes with an average grade of 1.26 grams of gold per tonne for 3.71 million contained ounces of gold. This is compared to June 2004's results which showed that the mine had 75.6 million tonnes at a grade of 1.34 grams of gold per tonne. Another mine owned by the firm called El Victor is expected to have a new resource figure by the second half of this year and at the moment this has an inferred resource of 23.9 million tonnes with an average grade of 0.91 grams of gold per tonne. The Mulatos mine is located within the 28,500 hectare Salamandra group of mines. It is a high sulfidation, epithermal gold deposit and contains over three million ounces of gold resources.
