Nevada drill results announced

Thursday, 21st December 2006 (2388 views)

Grandview Gold has reported the results from five assay holes recently drilled on its Pony Creek property in north Nevada.

Some 28 square miles of the property, which lies along the Carlin Trend, were comprehensively examined for geochemical and geophysical signs of gold mineralisation and specific areas were targeted.

Historical results have been upgraded to recognise one hole with an intersection grading 1.696 grams of gold per tonne between 305 and 317 feet.

Paul Sarjeant, the chief executive officer of Grandview Gold, said: "We are particularly excited by the findings in this hole, as they demonstrate that the geological and geochemical work is moving our understanding of the targets forward.

"It appears that we have indications that the proper host rock types are present at depth and geochemical work has helped us focus our search area. It is an important step because drill hole targeting is a 3-D problem and the data suggest that we are making progress on identifying critical elements of Carlin Trend mineralisation."
