Lakota finds gold at Tembo

Tuesday, 19th December 2006 (2209 views)

Drilling work at Lakota Resources' Tembo project in Tanzania has intersected gold mineralisation over a distance of 650 metres, it has been announced.

At the company's 100 per cent owned project, 88 grab samples were made over a strike length of 650 metres from artisanal pits at the site.

Gold was found to occur at both mafic volcanics and quartz veining at Tembo and sampling also discovered pyrite, pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite in certain samples.

SGS Laboratories in Mwanza focused on the sample preparation and fire assay work after the sampling work had been completed.

Elevated gold values were received from three wallrock samples and so far, exploration work has determined the possibility of gold bearing quartz veins in the north eastern area of the Tembo project.

Lakota is focused on operations in Tanzania - specifically its Tembo project it states on its website - and the mining company earlier this month announced the appointments of both Randy Koroll as director and Stanley Robinson as acting chairman.
