Greenbelt destruction given red lightThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Tuesday, 19th December 2006 (3013 views) Keegan Resources has announced that it has received the latest assay results from the three holes dug at its Esaase gold property which is located in the south-west of Ghana. There appears to be a high gold presence among sheeted quart vein style gold mineralisation and one highlight of this was the 20 metre stretch with a grade of 0.98 grams of gold per tonne. Other holes also had good results such as 12 metres with a grade of 1.23 grams of gold per tonne and 46 metres at 2.17 grams of gold per tonne. Dan McCoy, the president and chief executive officer of Keegan Resources, said: "These results extend the strike length of drilled mineralisation and confirm excellent continuity and depth extent to the bulk mineable mineralisation reported in previous news releases. "We believe that there is a very high probability that we will find a significant deposit in the saprolite zone at Esaase within this strike length and we plan to begin delineating this resource using an additional rig in 2007." He added that the firm is also confident of finding more bulk mineable resources at a greater depth and that employees will be using a drill rig to search for this.
