Jourdan Resources has discovered a new zone of gold at its Quebec property which is called Belleterre Camp.

The prospect lies along the south-western part of the Abitibi greenstone belt in Quebec, an area which has historically exhibited areas with high grades of gold.

Belleterre itself has produced over 800,000 ounces with an average gold grade of 11 grams of gold per tonne.

It is a 112 hectare property and this discovery is the result of extensive work including stripping, trenching and a channel sampling campaign by the company.

This 2006 programme of work was designed to test an extension off the main Guillet Lake fault which crosses the whole property from north-east to south-west.

Two trenches were built which exposed a ten-metre long shear zone which was thus sampled. One highlight was a 5.5 metre stretch with an average grade of 2.53 grams of gold per tonne.

Another channel had values which ranged from 3.23 grams of gold per tonne to 350 grams of gold per tonne.
