Thursday, 23rd November 2006 (4841 views) By posing in stolen gold jewellery in pictures posted on social networking website MySpace, two teenage brothers from Florida have been charged with grand theft by police. The photos were spotted by the son of one of the theft victims and consequently, the two boys aged 14 and 16 were caught and charged. According to the Hillsborough County sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter, the gold jewellery was not the only stolen goods found in possession of the miscreants with around $5,000 (£260) worth of items recovered. Among the stolen articles were laptops, guns and televisions. Police also arrested other suspects on suspicion of being involved in the burglaries and possessing firearms after being led to them following a search of the teenage brothers' house. Ms Carter went on to state that by surfing the internet for sites such as MySpace, the benefits have made it an investigative tool commonly utilised in order to secure arrests.
