Galantas to exhibit in Canada

Thursday, 24th August 2006 (2356 views)

Galantas Gold has announced that it will exhibit at the Toronto Resource Investment conference on the 24th and 25th of September.

The conference, which takes place at the Toronto Convention Centre, will see the company showcase the Galantas gold mine. The Galantas project is the only gold mine in Ireland.

Business and technical journalists recently visited the project, located in County Tyrone. Diamond drilling is currently underway to determine deposit extensions and construction of open pits and the processing plant is nearly complete.

The company expects the project to produce 30,000 ounces of gold per year, as a result of the high-grade open pit and processing plant that will soon be in place there. The gold will take the form of sulphide flotation concentrate and will be made available to commercial smelters.

Certain elements of free gold from a small gravity section of the plant will be used in the Galantas jewellery business, which is also fully owned by the company. Irish gold from the Omagh mine used in jewellery production has played a part in CDN$645,000 worth of sales.
