Midlands begins Tanzania geochemistry programme

Monday, 24th July 2006 (2507 views)

Midlands Minerals has announced that it has started a Metal Mobil Ion geochemistry research programme at one of its site in Tanzania.

The Itilima Project is being surveyed in preparation for drilling work that is planned for the final quarter of this year, establishing locations by proximity to previously identified anomalies.

The creation of three grid lines will facilitate the collection of 2157 samples covering a distance of 57 kilometres.

It is planned that these samples will be drawn from the grid lines every 20 metres, with this work expected to be completed by the end of this month.

The next face of drilling is then due to commence in November. The site is situated in the Lake Victoria Goldfields, an area aleady known to hold 40 million ounces of gold reserves.
