El Dorado updates on Brazilian projectWednesday, 28th June 2006 (2558 views) El Dorado Gold Corporation has announced the results of its ongoing exploration at the Vila Nova gold project located in Brazil.Investigations so far have been focused upon two regions situated not far from the Vila Nova river, one to the north and one to the south. The northern site in particular has seen significant progress, with its Croado and Gaivotas areas yielding mineralised iron formations. Looking ahead, the project will aim to establish an estimate of potential resources for extraction from Croado and Gaivotas areas, as well as exploring further opportunities for both north and south sections. Chief operating officer Norman S Pitcher said: "We are pleased with the strong start to our 2006 program at the Vila Nova gold project. "The gold mineralisation is showing very good strike length and depth potential so far and we are encouraged by the initial metallurgical properties of the mineralisation." The company is involved in exploration programmes in China and Turkey, as well as in Brazil.
