Tiffany jewellery show to open in LondonWednesday, 21st June 2006 (4541 views) A range of delicate and exclusive Tiffany jewellery will be shown in London, some of it seen never seen before in public.The exhibition, Bejewelled by Tiffany, will review a range of works in gold, platinum and jewels from a 150 year time-span. This rare opportunity to see so much of the work of Charles Louis Tiffany's company is presented by the Gilbert Collection Trust. A statement from the trust described the event as the "most comprehensive exhibition of Tiffany jewellery ever mounted," which "will introduce Great Britain to the rich history of the jewellery of Tiffany & Co". "Some 180 glittering pieces from the Tiffany Archive, together with a small selection of jewels loaned from private collections, will chronicle Tiffany's first 150 years." Included in the collection are a gold bracelet based on an ancient Greek piece, and several opulent diamond and pearl necklaces set in gold, as well as a cameo portrait of the company's founder. The company's jewellery has been popular with the rich and famous since its early days, with fine design and exclusivity guaranteeing its popularity.
