Sydney Resource has announced the location of a new gold-copper site it is hoping to develop.

In a statement the firm said it had identified a 230 metre potential strike area at the Los Brasiles project following initial testing.

Sydney president Darin Wagner said the early signs were encouraging at the Mexican base.

"Initial results indicate a sizeable gold-copper mineralized system is present on the Los Brasiles property," he said.

"The higher grade breccia body intersected at the top of hole LB06-01 adds a new exploration target on the property."

Earlier this year Sydney revealed it had targeted exploration inn Mexico's Sierra Madre Gold Belt, as the firm continues to target the country for gold.
