Avocet Mining has announced its results for the year ending March 31st, with production amounting to 208,626 ounces of gold.

This includes a fourth quarter production rate of 49,932 ounces and is an increase on last year's total of 172,938 ounces.

Production in the JV Zeravshan mine was down on last year's results due to the large-scale waste removal works taking place at the Jilau Pit.

By the end of summer 2006 it hopes that production at Jilau will be reaching consistent high grade ore – in order to make up for last year's shortfall.

Meanwhile, the company's main production centre in Peniom, Malaysia, reported 28,257 ounces of gold for the fourth quarter, bringing the total production for the year to 117,679 ounces.

Avocet is listed on the AIM and London Stock Exchange and owns 26 per cent of the Dynasty Gold Corporation.
