Bangalore boutique adds sparkle

Thursday, 23rd March 2006 (4233 views)

Bangalore clothes boutique Isis held a fashion show, which featured jewellery from designer Shobha Asar of Mumbai, to launch its spring-summer prêt-a-porter collection.

And Ms Asar spoke to Metrolife about what designers were doing to light up the catwalk. "The fluid forms of the chandelier earrings and chokers are inspired by nature, designs from the Victorian Classic art décor styles and ethnic Indian jewellery," she said.

According to Ms Asar, diamond settings had to be platinum or white gold with jade, turquoise, azurite or other piercing stones. "That way you can choose from the burst of colours in the stones to match your outfits," she said.

The white gold was setting off a variety of collections on the runway, including labels from the likes of Biba, Sukarma and Gunnjan. Prominent colours were off-white and red.

The new Isis store is located in The Forum at Koramangala and was opened by former Miss World Diana Hayden.
