Omega opens Rodeo Drive store

Wednesday, 22nd March 2006 (4246 views)

Luxury watch brand Omega opened its first US boutique in the swanky Rodeo Drive shopping street last week, the National Jeweler reports.

The store, in between the Coach and Tod's stores in the famous Beverly Hills shopping area, measures 16,000 square feet and will feature Omega's range of deluxe watches.

These include the De Ville Co-Axial GMT, which features a self-winding chronometer and an 18-carat yellow gold case.

The Rodeo Drive store will be followed by further US stores. The first of these will be located in New York, according to Omega spokeswoman Danielle Martinetti.

However, she stressed that the watch firm, which enjoyed double-digit sales growth last year, does not have a precise timeline for future store openings.

Los Angeles' Rodeo Drive comprises what are probably the most expensive three blocks of shops in the world. It's where the rich and famous go to do their shopping and where tourists try to get a glimpse of their favourite celebrities.
