Atlas Jewellery is to open its latest showroom in Sohar, Oman tomorrow.

The company is the largest 22-carat gold jewellery chain in the Gulf and began operations in the Gulf four years ago, the Times of Oman reports.

Its first branch opened in Muscat in October 2002 and strong demand led to further stores opening in Salalah, Sur, Gubrah and Darsait. The new outlet will be located in the Lulu Hypermarket in Sohar.

Atlas chairman M M Ramachandran noted that showroom openings tended to be extravagant affairs.

"The opening of Atlas Jewellery showrooms anywhere in the Gulf is an event by itself. We have realised the fact that our valued customers always ensure that they are there with us, right from the inauguration day itself.

"All our showroom openings are thus a grand affair with thousands of people. We are sure that there will be a huge crowd when we inaugurate our showroom."
