American job-hunters eager to enter the gold jewellery industry will be given a helping hand this year with two large-scale recruitment fairs.

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) will once again be hosting its jewellery career fairs, the largest recruitment event in the industry.

The first recruitment fair takes place in New York City on July 28th, followed by a second event on September 29th, to be held at GIA's headquarters in Carlsbad, California.

Past names recruiting at the fair have included Tiffany and Co, Christies and Saks Fifth Avenue, with 100 companies typically in attendance.

Last year's event saw almost 2,000 job-seekers benefit from career coaching sessions, workshops and CV sessions, with the fairs giving people the opportunity to make contacts, develop career prospects and gain knowledge of the gold jewellery sector.
