Italian jewellery brand Sogni D Oro is hoping to tap further into the Indian market after opening a retail outlet in Calcutta, the Indian Business Standard reports.

The store is located at the DiaGold Jewels showroom and adds to existing Sogni D Oro outlets in Mumbai and Chennai.

Sogni D Oro is known for its trendy designs and the new store will stock a wealth of golden jewellery and accessories including neckwear, bangles, cuff-links, rings, charms and pendants.

Designs are crafted from 18-carat gold and encrusted with diamonds and other gems.

Sogni D Oro will go for the jugular later this year when it opens two more stores in Mumbai and Bangalore.

The fate of Italian gold jewellers in India is overseen by Italindi Jewellery – a consortium of over one hundred Italian manufacturers.

Italindi was founded in 2003 to promote Italian jewellery in the Indian market in an ordered manner.
