Brighten up winter with a gold broochThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Tuesday, 24th January 2006 (8635 views) Style watchers who feel their passion for fashion has been somewhat dampened by the winter blues are being advised to brighten up their winter wardrobe with some gold jewellery. The fashion advisers at Newsweek magazine recommend that people update this season's winter coats with a gold brooch. Among the many designs on offer, they recommend Cartier's Le Baiser du Dragon, selling at 7,284 euros. Described as a "playful" design, the brooch is fashioned out of 18-carat white gold and has been praised as a "stylised interpretation" of the mythical beast. It will satisfy those in search of a little winter "bling", as not only is the dragon's eye made from a ruby, but the entire creation is covered in diamonds. For a less expensive option, Newsweek recommends Liz Claiborne's Crystal Spray brooch, a snip at 20 euros. The design features Topaz-coloured crystals clustered around a gold-tone frame. Gold brooches are a particularly good choice of accessory for those favouring this season's "lady-like" look.
