Damas customers can receive even better product information now that it has implemented a high-tech tracking system.

The international watch and jewellery house has upgraded to a MBS Navision system that enables retail outlets to record their stock and track its whereabouts, according to the Trade Arabia News Service.

"Bar coding of every single piece of jewellery has been accomplished in each of these navisionised shops and the system provides excellent product information," explained Damas' chairman Tawfique Abdullah.

So far 100 outlets have received the technology and it is hoped that the system will be fully implemented in the remainder of Damas' UAE shops by the end of the year.

Damas has a large presence in the UAE and showcased its Chronswiss watches in Dubai when watchmaker Gerd R Lang visited last week.
