Gold buyers in this year's festive season in India have a wealth of choices available to them.

Along with the enormous demand, this year has seen diamonds and gold necklaces, rings and bracelets come in all shapes and sizes for every personality.

India leads the world in gold consumption, which could be a main reason for such variety.

Head of financial initiatives at the World Gold Council in India, Navin Kumar, said: "India's demand for gold this year is already over 90 tonnes and by December, we are expecting a higher growth than last year's. That's also partially because demand in the retail segment has grown in India."

So far jeweller PC Chandra's showrooms have claimed that this month 2,000 people are visiting and buying gold in different forms every week.
