Mining firm Amerix Precious Metals Corporation has found a large amount of gold mineralization at a project in Para State, Brazil.

Testing from the zone found an area rich in sulfides and carbonates, with samples ranging from 9.54 grams gold per tonne (gpt) to 162.74 gpt.

President and chief executive of Amerix, John Andrews, confirmed the findings and was encouraged by the sampling results.

He said: "This recent sampling undertaken at Novo Brasilia provides further confirmation that our 40,000-hectare Vila Porto Rico land position, which encompasses the Novo Brasilia and Ouro Roxo prospects, has become a key exploration focus for Amerix."

The Ontario-based Amerix plans on continuing its efforts in Para State and may test neighbouring areas for further mineralization.

Amerix currently has projects running in Canada and Mexico along with others in Brazil.
