Kathy Ireland, an ambassador for House of Taylor jewellery, has been named the Entrepreneurial Champion of 2005.

She has been awarded the accolade by The Committee of 200, an organisation of pre-eminent businesswomen from the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Ms Ireland has grown her business from designing socks to a home and fashion design company.

She also helped to develop a brand partnership business model in which her company, Kathy Ireland, has been associated with House of Taylor Jewellery, a company that also represents Elizabeth Taylor.

Partnerships are becoming increasingly necessary in the competitive jewellery market and House of Taylor Jewellery's president, Jack Abramov, believes that by partnering with the company "major jewellery manufacturers can instantly acquire brand power and awareness that would otherwise take years and tens of millions of dollars to develop".

This Los Angeles-based international jewellery company, provides luxury goods and is headed by Elizabeth Taylor known for her fascination with jewellery, such as gold items and particularly diamonds.
