Gold helps form the latest look in Arizona

Friday, 24th June 2005 (4396 views)

Gold is all the rage in America this summer, with jewellery, clothing and make up all going for gold as part of the latest look for US women, according to latest reports.

One model Michelle Davis has been used to highlight the latest look in the Arizona Republic, wearing gold make-up, clothing and gold jewellery by Chandler designer Liz Love.

Michelle sports gold dangle chain earrings, $48, two triple-strand gold necklaces, $140 each, and three gold and coloured-bead bracelets, $48 each.

Linda Wells, editor in chief of Allure, explained that women's growing satisfaction with their jobs and families gives them confidence in themselves and the way they look, with gold now being used to create a bold and luxurious look.

In the magazine's State of Beauty Survey, released this month, 91 per cent of American women said that they were happy with their looks. The survey, which polled more than 1,000 women, claims that beauty is a source of strength, ranking just below work and family.

"Celebrities have given us a much greater range of what's attractive, a greater variety of age, ethnicity, body type," Ms Wells explained. "You get the sense that these celebs are individuals, and women realise that it's the development of character that affects our concept of beauty as well."track
