Wednesday, 22nd June 2005 (4400 views)

The ITE Jewellery & Watch Exhibitions, held in Delhi annually to showcase the finest jewellery from India and abroad, are still going strong.

Organised by the major conference and exhibition group ITE India, the exhibition, popularly know as the DIJE, was first held in 1996.

Renowned gold jewellers from across the country brought their carefully-crafted jewelley, inlaid with precious and semi-precious stones, to the first show, which was attended by more than 100,000 visitors.

The combination of traditional Indian design and contemporary technology ensured that the first exhibition was a success, and the DIJE is now held annually, in the southern city of Hyderabad as well as in Delhi.

According to ITE India, there are also plans to host the exhibition in foreign cities such as London and Vancouver.track
