A company based in Bangalore, India has won a lucrative contract to supply 22 carat gold designer jewellery to a Chicago-based enterprise.

Rajesh Exports will supply MR Gems, a dominant player in the Chicago market, with the gold jewellery over the next five months.

The contract, worth 2,260 million rupees (£28.5 million), is a major breakthrough for Rajesh Exports, allowing the company to break into the US market with its designer jewellery range.

According to local news sources, MR Gems chose Rajesh Exports because of the quality of its products and the fact that it delivers on time.

The jewellery will be manufactured at Rajesh Exports' Bangalore-based facility, the largest jewellery manufacturing facility in the world, according to local reports. Spread over 12 acres, it is able to process 250 tonnes of gold jewellery per annum.track
