White gold glamourises new laptopTuesday, 31st May 2005 (3166 views) A new piece of technology has been created featuring solid white gold plates and diamonds. The Tulip E-Go Diamond notebook will be released in Europe in October and will cost 283,000, according to Gizmag. Interchangeable covers and features also allow the user to make their laptop look even more innovative, with the product being marketed as a fashion accessory. Huub van den Boogaard, founder of Tulip Distribution International Holding (TDIH), said: "Tulip has identified a growing tendency towards design needs within the computer industry. "The ordinary computer has evolved from a specialty product to a commodity product. Competition in the computer market is driven by specifications and price, with a growing demand of users willing to pay a premium for a personalised design computer." TDIH has worked with Inclosia for the project to help bring an element of fashion to the devices.
