Global television anchor Lesley MacDonald was adorned in gold as she hosted the recent Government of Canada dinner for the Queen.

Ms MacDonald accessorised her black satin dress with jewellery by Diamori, from her friend Roger Morton.

She wore an 18-carat yellow gold diamond-set neckpiece with two carats of diamonds and 18-carat gold earring, with pear-shaped diamond drops.

In addition, an 18-carat yellow gold bangle glistened on her wrist along with an antique style 18-carat gold ring with sapphires and diamonds.

"I eventually borrowed a gown and $30,000 worth of jewellery," Ms MacDonald told the Edmonton Journal.track
