Aarens looks to open new gold souks

The Aarens Group has announced plans to launch speciality malls across India, including Chennai.

According to director G S Pillai, the Rs 300 crore company is planning to cover Gurgaon, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Kochi, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Kolkata in its first phase.

Each of the malls will need investment of around Rs 80 crore to Rs 110 crore and it is hoped building will be complete in two years.

In addition, it is looking to open a Gold and Wedding Souk in Kochi.

The Chennai souk will cater to gold and wedding markets and the home market, with work expected to begin in October or November this year.track
