Alukkas increases Indian presence

Wednesday, 18th May 2005 (4604 views)

Indian jewellery brand Alukkas has announced it is opening a new store in Karnataka and launching new collections.

The jeweller is already well established in Kerala and the Middle East and has chosen Bangalore because of its "cosmopolitan and excellent tastes".

According to the company, the showroom would act as a retail centre too and will include antiques and a section that will reveal the cultural heritage of Kerala.

Managing director, John Alukka, told New Ind Press: "Exquisite designs have been hand-picked from various jewellery centres across the world. We have our own manufacturing unit and designers. We export our products to America and Dubai as well.

"We are the leaders in plain jewellery apart from dealing in diamonds, traditional gold and lightweight jewellery as well."

Mr Alukka hopes that with customer support it can "climb the ladder" and become one of the top jewellery retailers.

Collections in the new showroom will include lightweight modern ornaments, diamonds, gold jewellery and cultured pearl and platinum jewellery.

The new Bangalore site will open on May 21st, with Indian actors Mammootty and Meena helping to promote the new store.track
