Monday, 18th April 2005 (5773 views) Over 150 gold jewellery companies are expected to take part in a new gold exhibition in India next month.<br/><br/>The Gold Jewellery India International Exhibition 2005 is the first business-to-business trade fair for India.<br/><br/>More than 10,000 visitors from India and overseas are also expected to attend the event, which was organised by the Madras Jewellers & Diamond Merchants Association and the World Gold Council.<br/><br/>The event will run from May 20th to 22nd in the Chennai Trade Centre.<br/><br/>South India is the largest market for gold and gold jewellery in the country, making up almost half of its annual consumption of 600 tonnes of the precious metal.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=8300254"/>
