Jewellery spinning its way to successThursday, 31st March 2005 (7100 views) The latest look for jewellery in America is spinners, according to Inside Bay Area.Jeweller Ken Lu has been inundated with requests for gold wristwatches featuring a five-spoke wheel "spinner" on the face. According to Mr Lu this is the latest trend with people wanting something new and fresh. Spinner is slang for the spinning vehicle rims popular in hip-hop and with celebrities with fancy cars. However, the items are not only appearing on watches, but also necklaces and teeth. Sheik Hussain from East Coast/West Coast Designs has started offering 14-carat gold teeth with spinners on them. The New York store has always specialised in custom gold teeth and was quick to jump on the bandwagon. Two removable front teeth can be bought for $59 and feature a sunflower with squared-off edges. Designer David Fowlkes got the idea in 1992 and it is now proving a big hit.
