Gold adds glamour to world's most expensive flat-screen TV

Gold continues to be used for popular electrical goods.

Following the use of the precious metal for items including mobile phones and MP3 player necklaces, gold has now moved onto the big screen.

At the CeBIT technology fair, which took place recently, LG Electronics unveiled its new 71-inch television screen.

The screen is decorated with 24-carat gold and will sell at $76,860, deemed to be the world's most expensive flat screen TV.

According to Reuters, the event which is held in Hanover, Germany, a lot of the items at the technology event go on into mass production and prove a bit hit, rather than just being used to push product boundaries at the show.track
