Rock star reveals golden hobby

Former Rolling Stones' star Bill Wyman has revealed he has a penchant for treasure hunting, as he reveals his true self in a new book.

Bill Wyman's Treasure Islands is co-written with Richard Havers and logs some of the best finds in recent metal detection

The 68 year old has revealed he is a big fan of the past time and has uncovered a number of items including gold discoveries.

He purchased his first detector in 1991, according to the Independent Online and has described his hobby as more thrilling than having fun with his old rock star friends.

Mr Wyman has found a total of 300 coins including a gold half noble from 1361 and a coin from the reign of Harold II.

"It's not just an old fogey thing," he said.track
