Chennai plans international gold jewellery expoMonday, 31st January 2005 (7187 views) Chennai is to host the first ever business-to-business international jewellery show this year, organised by two key organisations.Gold Jewellery India International Exhibition 2005 (GIJE 2005) is being organised by the World Gold Council (WGC) and Madras Jewellers & Diamond Merchants Association (MJDMA). It is thought more than 150 Indian and international participants will attend the event, which will run for three days from May 20th, according to Business India. WGC managing director, Sanjeev Agarwal, commented: "The GJIIE 2005 will offer an excellent platform to meet, interact and transact business with jewellery manufacturers, jewellery machinery and packaging manufacturers, importers, exporters, wholesalers and retailers under one roof." The event will also help designers and manufacturers more aware of changing trends in overseas markets, which will provide helpful information for export deals.
