David Rutledge, chief executive of DMCC confirmed that: "We have two major gold refineries already under operation in DMCC and two more are expected to go on stream later this year." The Centre's facilities will integrate the refining, manufacturing and trading processes of gold, as well as providing a base for support services such as finance, logistics and insurance. The Dubai Metals and Commodities Centre (DMCC) was created in 2002 as part of an initiative by Dubai government to strengthen the gold and diamond markets.
