Castellani works showcased in New YorkThursday, 6th January 2005 (4562 views) An exhibition showcasing one of the most important jewellery designing clans in Italy is currently taking place in New York.The work of the Castellani family involves micromosacis, granulation and pure gold surfaces, using the technique of 'blooming', according to Diamonds.net. Ancient techniques, the methods were nearly lost and are evidence of cultural aesthetics and the sophisticated roots of art. The 'Castellani and Italian Archaeological Jewelry' exhibition is being held in the Bard Graduate Centre and hopes to give a thorough history of the decorative art of the goldsmith. The exhibition is running until February 6th and is divided into sections to give a balanced overview of the jewellery and the Castellani family.
