Monday, 20th December 2004 (4460 views)

South Africa is providing a number of new jewellery items to appeal to women this Christmas.

South African jewellery designer Vernon White claims that this season the biggest trend in jewellery is to wear unique items that feature the semi precious stone tanzanite.

Popular items include tiny dragonfly pendants, chandelier earrings and plain studs, according to IOL.

In addition, one particular must-have for jewellery fans is the puzzle ring from contemporary designer Mark Gold.

The ring comes in a series of movable parts made from pink or white gold or platinum and is set in a band of steel.

Prices for the ring range from Rs 6,600 to Rs 41,000 for the male version and R19,400 to £385,000 for the women's range.
