Friday, 26th November 2004 (4483 views)

Birmingham City Council has announced it is reopening the Jewellery Quarter Museum to help regenerate the area surrounding it.

The museum is the site of a historic factory, which saw the family-run Smith and Pepper jewellery making firm produce items for more than 80 years.

According to ic Birmingham, the museum will reopen next month after being closed down 18 months ago.

The opening was announced at a recent meeting by the Jewellery Quarter Regeneration Partnership.

People can enjoy a tour around the site to learn more about the industry and the skills involved.
